As a parents we do almost everything to make our kids healthy. Preparing various dishes, getting costly fruits, exploring ways to push vegetable in their stomachs, trying to maintain balance in junk food vs fresh food, etc. But the main thing we all prefer is – giving butter assuming it will help our kid. Unknown to the fact that butter is full of diseases and when our kids are sick, crying with allot of stomach problem, we continue giving them more and more of it.

The butter we eat or give to our children is usually a pasteurized butter, the yellow-butter.

Is pasteurized butter good?

It is usually cause a lot of health problems, this is because of its making process. Pasteurized butter involves heating the milk cream at high temperatures, which in-turn destroys the natural enzymes present in the milk. therefore making pasteurized butter harder to digest and unfortunately, one of the causes behind cholesterol and other lifestyle diseases.

In Ayurveda, White butter is also called Navaneet. It means something which is created daily, appears new, is Navaneet. Hence every house-maker, mother or sister, should take out fresh Makhan for eating.

  • In Bharat, we have a great connection of Makhan-Mishri with krishan ji (Hindu god). His hands and mouth were all smeared with Makhan during his childhood days. Today also if you see most temple in breakfast server Makhan as prasad. But Why?
  • All milk product have its own benefits, but yet this Makhan (white-butter) is given special importance. But Why?
  • Doctors at certain age refuses to eat Yellow butter, however Ayurveda still suggest to eat White butter. But Why?

There are some studies done on this magical diet – Makhan. A study in 1930 Dr. Watston Price has stated that white butter plays a major role in the diet of all communities which are healthy and provides a long lifespan. It takes only 40 minutes to digest. It is very good for digestion.

Ingredients

Makhan
(White Butter/Navaneet)
Pls make homemade butter by churning fresh cream or malai. This ensures the Makhan is pure and free from additives.
Mishri
(Dhage Wali Mishri Or Rock Sugar)
Mishri is commonly used for its unique texture and sweetness. It’s a healthier choice compared to refined sugar. It can do wonder on your body.

Steps to make Makhan-Mishri

Time needed: 15 minutes

  1. Prepare Makhan:

    start by churning fresh cream or malai until it separates into butter and buttermilk. You can use a hand churner, a mixer grinder, or a food processor. Make sure it is well-drained and free from excess liquid. You will notice this Makhan to be white in color, hence also known as White-Butter.

  2. Collect the Makhan:

    Once the Makhan is separated, collect it in a clean bowl. You may need to wash this with cold water to remove any remaining Makhan.

  3. Add Mishri:

    While the white-butter is still soft, mix in mishri (rock sugar) to taste. The amount of sugar you add depends on your child’s preference for sweetness. Start with a small amount and adjust as needed. Be mindful not to make it overly sweet.

  4. Mix Thoroughly:

    Use a spoon to mix the sugar into the Makhan evenly. Ensure that the Mishri are well incorporated into the Makhan.

Serve with love

You can serve Makhan-Mishri in various ways:

  • Directly: Eat 1 spoon of Makhan freshly with mishri daily morning.
  • Spread on Chapatis or bread.
