When you work out, your body produces a lot of heat. Therefore, refrigerated water is not suitable for your body. That’s why drinking cold water after a workout sometimes causes stomach ache.
3. Fat does not break
Do you drink cold water after eating food? Avoid this as cold water solidifies the fat content from the food you eat. Therefore, your body cannot break down this unwanted fat. So, we recommend you to drink normal water after 30 minutes of meal.
4. Weak Immune System
Drinking cold water creates a specific stress in which your body is unable to keep itself warm. This constricts the blood vessels in your neck. In addition, this condition reduces white blood cells and hence, your ability to fight off bacteria and viruses.
5. Slow Heart Rate
All humans have a vagus nerve to control the lungs, heart, and digestive system. Repeatedly drinking cold water cools this nerve, which slows down your pulse. Hence, you must stay away from cold water if you want to avoid unwanted emergency situations.
6. Sore throat and other complications
Stay away from cold water if you do not want the problem of frequent blocked nose and sore throat. Drinking cold water after eating food makes mucus in your respiratory system. Hence, you experience congestion in the respiratory tract which results in several respiratory problems and infections.
Consuming too much cold water causes brain freeze. In other words, cold water chills the sensitive nerves in your spine and has a negative effect on the brain. Hence, you may experience headache and even sinus.
If you are trying to get rid of cold or flu then cold water can make your condition worse. Also, if you are already suffering from migraine then cold water can trigger a migraine. Cold water and beverages tend to increase pain related to atelectasis – a disorder where the esophagus cannot pass food.
The Chinese believe that drinking cold water with meals creates an imbalance in the human body. That is why they enjoy their food with hot water or hot tea.
Is hot water better than cold water?
Drinking hot water is better for your body as it helps in digestion, removes toxins from the body, lubricates your joints, carries oxygen to all parts of your body and keeps your skin healthy. However, consuming hot water reduces your thirst. In other words, you may not feel as thirsty as you normally would. This type of sensation can become a problem in summers as your body’s water requirement is high. So, if you prefer to drink “only” warm water, increase your intake.

In view of the increasing level of pollution, we recommend you to consume filtered water. Install a high quality RO filter for safe drinking water at your home and office. Water obtained from hand pumps and summer sable pumps is also pure as long as there is no industrial discharge in the vicinity. Nevertheless, we recommend you to clean them using filters.
