Skin care tips for men
1. Stay hydrated
The heath of your skin depends a lot upon your water intake. So, drink a lot of water to keep your skin clear and healthy. Eat a lot of vegetables and fruits. You can also include fruit juices in your diet, especially in your breakfast and pre/post workout meal.
2. Use products according to your skin type.
Check the ingredients and label on the product you use for your face. For example, if you have acne-prone skin, look for a moisturizer and cleanser.
Similarly, if you have sensitive skin, go for fragrance-free items. However, be careful when purchasing unscented products as they may contain hidden fragrances that can irritate your skin.
3. Keep your skin moisturized
Moisturizers keeps your skin healthy, especially in the winters. We suggest you to try organic moisturizers like coconut oil moisturizer. There are multiple brand manufacturing chemical-free moisturizers.
4. Avoid hot showers
Taking a hot bath is relaxing for your body and mind. But, we do not recommend you to enjoy it, especially if you want to take care of your skin.
Do you know that hot water removes the natural oil from your skin?
As a result, your skin becomes flaky and dry, leaving you feeling irritated.
If you do not want to give up hot water, then restrict your bathing time to 5 minutes. Moisturize your skin after taking a hot shower. The moisturizer replaces the natural oils taken away by the hot water.
5. Wash your face every day
Use organic face wash to clean your face every day, especially after your workout session.
***To wash your face: You can use lukewarm water, but don’t use hot water.
Also, don’t use soap on your face as its harsh ingredients can make your skin dry.
6. Check your shaving technique
Multi-razor blades work well for many men because they provide a close shave. However, if you notice razor bumps, razor burns, ingrown hairs, try single or double-blade razors.
Wet your skin and hair to soften them before you start shaving. Also, shave in the direction of your hair growth.
Wash your face after each swipe of the razor. Apart from this, after shaving five to seven times, change the blade.
7. Try an organic aftershave
Shaving makes our skin dry. Using an alcohol-based after shave lotion can irritate your skin more.
So use paraben-free and sulfate-free aftershave.
8. Stay away from fatty food
Nutrients like Vitamins (A, C, K), Protein E, and zinc repairs damaged skin. In addition, omega-6 fatty acid (Linoleic acid) present in vegetable oils also takes care of your skin. On the other hand, a high fat diet over a long time could lead to skin cancer. So, we recommend you to consume low-fat diet.
9. Dry your face gently
Do not rub your face vigorously with a towel after you have showered or washed your face. Instead, pat your face dry because rubbing irritates your skin.
10. Regular skin check-up
Bleeding or itchy moles can be warning signs of skin cancer. Moles that change color are also a sign of skin disorders. If you find anything suspicious on your face, contact a dermatologist immediately. Skin cancer is curable if you catch it early.
